Twenty years ago, Marta de Miguel Aznar came to Cicero District 99 from her home country of Spain. 

Two decades later, de Miguel Aznar, a bilingual interventionist at Sherlock, feels as though her career in Cicero has been nothing short of rewarding, from the life-changing learning moments she's experienced alongside her students, the connections she's made with families and the unbreakable bonds she's forged with colleagues and administrators.

For her many years of dedication to the District and impeccable work ethic and team-player attitude, she was recognized at this week's Board of Education meeting as one of D99's Very Own.
